While don't seem to have the problem you're having with dot draw and
port 2004, I was going to ask if
you were running something like xinetd, which may be controlling ports
'lower than some value'. On
my embedded setup, I don't use xinetd at the moment, hence all ports not
otherwise occupied are available.
An experiement would be to put the dot draw port at 8080 or 9000 or such
and see if that changes
the failing behavior.
