Its not clear to me that HAL changes are required to implement an 
alternative MAC.   Nor is it clear to me that 'nstream' is much more 
than a simple slotted access protocol.

If there was an alternative MAC effort for OLSR, (I think this would be 
a good thing), and it required HAL changes, then its very likely that I 
can find a way to get those done (as long as they don't violate the 
regulatory controls in the HAL, of course.)
