hmm, do you mean that your processor is at >100% cpu time?
okay, if your olsd daemon is loosing packets or not processing packets
quick enough, then I suppose it will loose track of the network. In
fact cisco routers do the same thing when they 'go crazy'.
if you must use your routing infrastrucutre to run applications (not a
good idea really). then you could probably increase the priority of
the olsrd process using nice. that's not going to help if your machine
is swapping (memory bound) or you time scheduler is not that clever
(or too clever!). as I don't know what operating system your using, I
can't help you much.
if the network interface is (also) overloaded, then you can setup
iptables/qos and make sure olsr packets take priority over all other
incomming/outgoing traffic queue's. thus even if your links are full
of traffic, olsrd will also get through promptly.
what are you running olsrd on? why are you running applications on
your routers? ;-).
