imho zhis should be no problem, as only the direct neighbours really needs
to use the MID adress
(you could with actual olsrd set the ttl of mids to 2, #1 to stop mids to be
flooded further than needed)

the minimum requirement for olsr ips, is a unique originator id (routeable
or not)
and interface adresses that are unique (within a 2 hop neighbour set)

above minimum may not make much sense, but if u add hnas, or have at least
an routeable originator-id it makes more sense.
and if not u should have routers (that u can reach only from their
neighbours) that will still route traffic fine,.. (as they still have an
working olsr setting vlaid routes,..)

#1 and maybe even disabling might work, (with similar same results as
setting a ttl of 1 (as the sourceaddr of hellos are used like mids)) but you
will break the 2hop neighboursset afair,..
