Yes: lower speed, because data rate does not work. Lowest data rate 
would be used (1Mbps).
The other reason for bad performance is sending each frame a couple of times.

But because the frames are send, and received, and forwarded by the bridge 
code, the user experiences connectivity. Only the performance is lousy.
