ooops, slip is rather ancient these times. I presume you use slip over 155 
mbps ATM or what?

Back on topic: Pointopoint interfaces cannot broadcast. But: you can use 
slip, ppp or ipip tunnel connections if you specify the other end ip address 
as broadcast address in the interface {} section of /etc/olsrd.conf. You may 
need to (manually!) ignore the olsrd complaints, but it works :)
