Hi,

If you are looking for a hybrid protocol where a pro-active protocol is 
used partially and a re-active partially I suggest you look into the 
Zone Routing Protocol (ZRP).

ZRP yses a pro-active protocol within "zones" while using a re-active 
protocol between them.
