The normal way this works is that a downstream project (OpenWRT is one 
of our downstreams, seen from our position) notifies us of this issue.
We are very willing to look at fixing things,
We have actually worked with OpenWRT before because they had out-of-tree 
patches that we wanted integrated.

Saverio is of the mdns library.
You were touching the build system, which is already 'blessed' by a long 
history (of which I'm not very happy either).
