You're welcome.

In your latest commit you forgot to remove the "+" sign.
That annotation is only meaningful for DEPENDS - it means "select
dependency" instead of "only be available if dependency is set".

For PKG_BUILD_DEPENDS there is no such annotation so you need to leave
it out there.
