Come on, do I really have to be on Twitter just to speak my mind?

As for the move, just remember what happened when Google waded into
the Source Code repository arena.  It took time to recover from that
and some good code was lost in the process.

Google had more than enough storage and bandwidth, so they had other
reasons for the pull-out.  Why would Microsoft be any different?  Who
would spend Billions for something that makes no profit?  It would
take a few racks of servers (which would be easy for M$) to duplicate
GitHub so the price they are paying is for something else.
