please do an iwconfig and ifconfig wlan0 on 2 different nodes, which u
tried and failed to ping each other.

hmm i am sorry to see that your interface seems to be still just UP but not
RUNNING!
(try other interfaces/drivers, or do not use adhoc (as u can do some olsrd
tests while using more simple configureable (and having broader driver
support) ap/client wireless links too)

furthermore: until you cant ping between 2 neighbours, there is
unfortunately no point in even start olsrd!
(as olsrd needs a working network between direct neighbours, to build a
larger network based on this working links)
