i just tried to reproduce your problems
i used an tiny arm9 board,. and 0.5.6 on x86
and everything worked fine,..

during the weekend i will probably put this arm9 board into a bigger mesh
aswell, but to be honest i don`t expect any problems.

i guess you might have cortex-a8 specific problems, or it might be something
completely different,..
unfortunately i have no cortex-a8 on hand (as i think they draw too much
power *G)

can u run gdb on your overo? to find out what your olsrd does when he burns
the cpu?
