Derek,

well: most probably you will notice a lot of PROBE_ANSWERS on 1Mbit. Has 
nothing to do with the routing proto, but a lot with WLAN driver/card 
combinations. Suppose:

a) 50 IBSS in a Room
b) 10 Standard-Nerds enter Roob
c) Each Standard-Nerd has two gadgets
d) 2*10 Gadgets scan for WLAN each second
e) 2*10 PROBE-REQ answered by 50 IBSS = 1000/sec.
