We have successfully OpenWRT running on xen. having olsr in the images,
gives a testnetwork. with scripts you can customize xen pretty well.
e.g. build one image. clone it on the target machine. let all of them
get ip via dhcp. create configs with macaddress ranges (e.g. so you can
determine via dhcp a group of nodes getting certain ips). all that
untested, just suggesting :)
*and* whatever kind of virtualization you gonna use: imho *all* of them
will have networking flaws (at least the popular ones).
