Have two different mesh algorithms working at the same time (MAC and IP
level) is not a good idea *if they don't share information*. On my view
*crosslayering* is the best approach to the solution. MAC level can give
us information about who is "out there" and the n-hop brothers we can
find. Level 3 must take into account other parameters such as the link
quality, the shortest path...
We (the Meshlium project team) are also studying how to use the
application level too by taking GPS info of each node to make a better
idea of the real topology and how it can help lower layers (which often
are "blind") to make the mesh.
