from the wiki page:
Wireless throughput is cut approximately in half for each WDS
repeating "hop", i.e. an AP that data flows through before hitting
the wired network. This is because all transmissions use the same
channel and radio and must be retransmitted to reach the wired LAN.
i'm no wds expert either but if i recall it correctly the wds is sort
of a really dumb system. the algorithm for a wds node is something
like "retransmit everything i receive except the stuff i sent
already". this might be feasible for broadcasting but an olsr-network
will not work, because all udp broadcasts from all nodes would be
seen by all other nodes.
i might be wrong, perhaps you just have to test it.
