olsr choses one of the nodes IP addresses as its primary address, and 
advertises itself under this address. I do not know how olsrd chooses 
it, but common sense implies that it prefers public IPs to private ones.
I am currently not able (read: too lazy) to test this, thou. This is the 
only unclear point that was still noteworthy to me in your described 
network layout.
