[OLSR-users] IPv6 address change problem : analysis

Hi

I have strange problems when the IPv6 address changes. After I change my IPv6 address the routing table is updated only in some of the nodes and also in those nodes the route seems to be stale (iam unable to ping6 the nodes but the route from them exists in the routing table). In the other nodes, the routing table is not updated with the newly changed address

Let me eloborate my secnario. The testbed config is as follows

n2 ---- n3 --- n4 --- n5 ---n6 --n7 --n8 --n9

The nodes n2,n3,n4,n5 have the prefix 2001:620:200:2::/64 and i change the prefix in n6, n7, n8, n9 to 2001:620:200:3::/64.

observations:

1) After the address change, n6, n7,n8 and n9 have the address of all the nodes (n2, n3, n4, n5, n6, n7, n8, n9) but iam able to ping only the node n6, n7, n8 , n9 (whose prefix is changed to 2001:620:200:3::/64). Though the route for n2, n3, n4 and n5 exists in n6, n7, n8, n9, iam unable to ping6 them.

2) In nodes n2, n3, n4 , the routes for n6, n7, n8, n9 (whose prefix is changed to 2001:620:200:3::/64) doesnt exists. But the route for n2, n3, n4 and n5 exists and iam able to ping them

4) n5 has routes for all the node n2, n3, n4, n5, n6, n7, n8, n9) and iam able to ping all of them.

n2 ---- n3 --- n4 --- n5 ---n6 --n7 --n8 --n9

considering the topology, i find something bizarre happening between n4 and n5..which draws me crazy

I am unable to proceed further how to analyse this

Any suggestions.

Has anyone tried changing the IPv4 address whilst the olsrd deamon running. Kindly let me know

- Rob
