I was referring to the zebra daemon in the quagga distribution that 
daemon name never changed when quagga was forked of zebra ;-)...

            |<----> zebra <---->  kernel ioctl/netlink
bgpd  <---->|

The protocol deaemons (ospf, bgpd) etc... use the "zebra" protocol 
(zclient) to talk to zebra.
