[OLSR-users] Convincing olsrd to select directional routes

hi
we have a multi linksys setup on many rooftops, where each linksys is a
hop (no bridging). usually 2 linksys are for directional links and 1 is
for omni antenna. The omnis all join the same ad-hoc network. All
linksys on one rooftop are connected via ethernet.
Now the following problem arises: The wireless links between omnis
exists but is far worse quality, than the directional antennas. this
means, less transfer rate and packetloss of around 20% (or even more).
olrsd likes the omni links more, because there are fewer hops.
Can we convince olsrd to select the better but more hop directional
routes?
We tried setting willingness of the omni links to 1 and the willinkness
of the direct links to 7, that did not work.
would it help to upgrade from 0.4.4 to 0.4.7?
can 0.4.4 and 0.4.7 coexist some time?
greetins from vienna (nearly all nodes running olsr now)
mihi
