I just downloaded the archive and tried to compile it on my Ubuntu 
machine... it doesn't work. Its makefile seems to be defective and its 
missing includes.

So I would say its either broken or not maintained, which might trigger 
a break on a modern GCC environment.

I would suggest trying the branch of our repository I told you about. If 
this is no solution for you, I suggest contacting the author of the 
OLSR-LC project.
