I agree. It can be also a wildcard (like "tun+", similar to how
iptables have them).

Could anybody implement that in OLSRv1? I don't feel comfortable
enough with the olsrd code to do it myself. And it would allow us too
start playing with tunnels and see if there are any other problems
(but we will not have so many tunnels for some time, probably).
