Hey,

no. "nosbeacon" just a hack - it's a flag normally not used in IBSS.

Background: the HAL (the binary / closed source) component in the driver 
knows 2 operating modes. Client and Master. IBSS is typically used with 
HAL(client). The "nosbeacon" tells the HAL to use Master-Mode. Which 
magically - nobody know why - works better. But long-term statistics will 
tell you: only some "stuck beacon" message. What's more important: the 
driver does not stop sending packets for 10 minutes in the middle of action.

Alternative: kick off mad-wifi and use ath5k. New driver - new fun <ggg>
