Mercurial HOWTO... very short edition. ;)

get the repository with "hg clone http://gredler.at/hg/olsrd-0.5.6/".
(move into the directory)
Switch to the tip with "hg checkout tip".

make some changes... commit them with "hg commit" and push them to the 
server...

"hg help" might be helpful ;)
