Hi,

sorry for the late reply but I had some difficulties reproducing the
problem.

I haven't managed it to produce a gcore dump (I think you meant the
gcore command in gdb). After attaching gdbserver to the running olsrd
process the "gcore" command on the gdb client produced the message
"Cannot create a core file" and I don't know how to fix this problem.

However, I recompiled olsrd with debug enabled and copied the unstripped
olsrd binary together with unstripped plugin libraries to my Linksys
device. I restarted olsrd: "./olsrd -f /etc/olsrd.conf -d 9 -nofork" and
recorded the log output.

After the problem occurred I killed the process with signal 5 (SIGTRAP)
to produce an ordinary core dump.

The core dump:
http://jo.wwsnet.net/olsrd/core.31841 888 kB

Log excerpt beginning shortly before the problem:
http://jo.wwsnet.net/olsrd/olsrd.log ~ 1 MB

Full log (extracts to about 1.4 GB):
http://jo.wwsnet.net/olsrd/olsrd-full.log.gz ~14 MB

I hope the material above helps somehow to debug the problem.

Greetings,
jow
