sorry for late reply, I was on vacation until now.

That's an interesting question ;)
I assume that manually configured hostnames on secondary interfaces will
result in duplicated hostname entries in the hosts file.

If mid_lookup_aliases() also returns something when being fed with a
secondary interface ip then even more redundant (or conflicting) entries
 might occur. I'll investigate on that.
