I compiled 0.5.4-rc1 on OS X today at the wireless community weekend  
in Graz
(https://wiki.graz.funkfeuer.at/WirelessCommunityWeekend)  where  
Hannes held a great great presentation.
So: olsrd 0.5.4rc1 runs and works on OS X

I can only encourage everybody to try out the new version. We had  
0.3% CPU load in a mesh with 20 nodes.
Next step would be to test it in bigger networks widely.

However I had to install ccache on OS X.
