I agree, that this needs verification on real life, otherwise there might 
really be route oscillations since the routing metric is more 
unstable/flexible. might introduce some bad side effects.

probably this formula would be the best to commit for now, because it is the 
old behaviour in much better readable form, without obvious side effects. 
Anything else needs more heavy testing...
