Hm, olsr is somehow quite agnostic of most layer 2 problems including
the "automatic channel joining"
you describe below.
I think we would all benefit from some kind of layer-integration or
layer-harmonizing driver like
Xian (http://xian.sourceforge.net/)
Currently AFAIK there is no code in olsrd which will handle channel
selection.
