yes, that would have been nice to use.
when we first decided to work with linksyses we thought of building a
mipsel-cross-toolchain.
Then we decided we wanted to stay in sync with OpenWrt and used its
toolchain instead.

Another thing we felt was necessary was to be able to easily build
olsrd packages for openwrt.
(without manpages, stripped etc.)

I personally would much more like to test a new olsr release on the
linksyses instead of creating packages before :)
